the renowned building in the beginning of 20 century, casa batlló, located in downtown barcelona, is one of antoni gaudi’s masterpieces in mature period. the profound knowledge on long time keen observation to nature is the origin of inspiration of gaudi’s unique form and construction, and is used boldly in design to create a space full of joy and sense of rhythm. based on the existing building, the design adds one floor and attic construction and rebuilds the fa?ade, open yards and low floors. make the extraordinary contrast between the wavy shape, blue, bright and opaque decorative elements to bring people the ocean imagination.the design endows the special style for casa batlló not only in the decorative elements but also considering the practical functions and adding two new stairs, four groups of chimney and ventilation system. the design makes the color treatment for the chimney in the roof decorated with ceramic and colorful glasses, which shows the gaudi’s color concept. the roof is decorated with ceramic and forms the arch style to break the monotony style of column and sphere.
