la fabbrica del vapore located in the northwest of milan was transformed from the old steam factory, aiming to protect the non-renewable industrial architecture, and building a gigantic lab and milan culture & creative center for the young to explore new knowledge, new idea and new technology. keep the original structure and architecture details, the rough pillars, gray cement floor and the exposed steel structure separating itself from the warehouse, provide the various labs, lectures, meetings, etc. in the ugly warehouse and connect culture and exhibition together. let the youth contact with experts and front-line workers, combining various hypothetical new form of production, to forge creativity and new ideas. loft community is one of the ways in which the old city is reconstructed, and also is an organic part of city renewal. through the reuse of old buildings, protect the historic buildings, make possible city texture continue and evolve, reduce the consumption of building materials, and sustainably develop the city.
