the otto bock healthcare science center at potsdamer platz is designed by german firm gn?dinger architekten for the world’s leading company in medical orthopedic technology otto bock healthcare gmbh, the exhibitions using the art of media installations to demonstrate the most innovative products and designs in this fast growing field of health care, shining like the diamond under the sunshine. based on the idea of human muscle fibers, the designers intended to bring high-tech and nature together in a harmonious manner. the amorphous, abstract fa?ade with its convex and concave structures, which wraps dynamically around the six-storey, reinforced concrete frame, is a metaphor for the simulation of complex biological processes and structures. with the respect due to the surrounding existing buildings, design the square building volume. the flexible design establishes the soft and fluent appearance away from the strong presence. the horizontal glass and while aluminum fa?ade break the strong vertical lines of the surrounding buildings, demonstrating the confident innovation and independence. the interior windmill-like access system along the glass cladding allows the planning of different room sizes to guarantee the daylight throughout rooms. the interior design is consistently minimalist, and the surfaces are white with silver-gray stone or carpet on the floors.
