Redevelopment of Plaza de la Encarnacion designed by J. MAYER H. Architects with the building area of 12670 m2, cost of 90 million euros has been completed in 2011, being as the new complex urban center of the city of Seville. The Metropol Parasol is the structure with innovative special bonding and PU layer. The new created space connects with the old city, blending into the cultural and commercial elements; the plaza, bars and restaurants lifted and the new viewing deck set on the top of wooden structure provide people with new angle of view; under the structure is the public space for all kinds of social events. The long stairs, round fountains and the curved handrails use the design language same as the waved wooden structure and form an organic unit, contracting with the surrounding buildings of middle Ages.
