项目概况:

Jewish Community Center Mainz designed by Manuel Herz in 2010 covered an area of 2500 m2. The volume of the building is situated parallel to the streets like a winding ribbon and its facades recall and are in line with the existing neighboring buildings. The building is from the Hebrew word for raising or blessing, whose five characters in an abstracted way articulate קדושה (Light of Diaspora) the profile of the building. The east side of the ribbon is the highest and thus creates a contained street space. The highly expressive profile of the building covers the existing neighboring buildings. The façade of the building are made of dark green ceramics, creating the three-dimensional perspective effect. Even give people an illusion that some façades are tilted from a special point of view, though the building is vertical. According to the different light reflection of the light and the viewing angle, the color of the ceramics changes from almost black to silver. Different areas inside the building are overlapped with each other and let people feel the unique characteristics of sculpture. The inclined walls and ceilings of the hall, cultural hall, parish, and offices adopt the white finish, while the synagogue as an independent space is covered with a layer of golden color. Light through the angular huge roof comes into the interior space. As the soul of the entire building, the adornment of the synagogue is extremely delicate. The surface of the walls and ceiling are shaped by densely packed Hebrew letters forming a mosaic-like relief, though creating no semantic content.
