NORDDEUTSCHE LANDESBANK designed by Behnisch, Behnisch & Partner located in the downtown of Hannover, Germany, covering an area of 75000㎡ and cost $ 180 million, won the 1st Prize in 1996. It serves as an important linking element defines the neighbouring quarters of the city. The a series of design such as the novel form, exquisite construction, soft glass curtain wall embody the building rational logical relations between each part and show the rational beauty of German construction from details which develop a good dialogue between the modern architecture and the historical environment. The building adopts the ecological strategy of sustainable development. Its diverse and efficient passive energy utilization system makes full use of the natural resources, such as the solar, wind, geothermal energy and no need air conditioning inside building.
