The site is located in Songjiang New district, Shanghai and it is the core area of the overall planning of “one core, two axes and three districts”. The style of the surrounding buildings is modern. So the designer following the original city texture creates a three-dimensional park with diversified functions which will give citizens more and colorful activity spaces.
The overall conceptual space structure of the site is one axis and two parts. The design comes from two images of “a bowl and a blooming lotus”. The site is surrounded by high buildings and like a bowl. The fortune from the surrounding commercial complex pours like water into the center of the bowl. Extract the meaning of “purity, enlightenment, prosperity” from the lotus imprint of Fortune Bowl as the symbol of the better future. The shape of cascading petals brings the site the changeable bright colors to recall the bowel. The natural petals also are translated to the natural amphitheater, outdoor business recreational area, ponds and streams to create an ecological, fashion and energetic urban park for the nearby community.
